About Us

We Help Reduce Stress

Land & Sea Together is building a network of services and opportunities to reduce stress for fisheries, forestry, and farming (FFF) enterprises, workers, and their families in Rhode Island.

Land & Sea Together is a USDA Grant funded program through RI-DEM and implemented by the Center for Mediation and Collaboration RI. We have pulled together over 25 different organizational partners across the state to build a network of support for the health and well-being of the Farming, Fisheries, and Forestry communities in Rhode Island.

About Our Mediation Program Manager

Our Mediation for Farmers and Fishermen Program is led by Stacy Entel, staff at the Center for Mediation and Collaboration RI.

“Stacy Entel is in her tenth season of farming in New England. She currently grows organic vegetables just over the state line at Heart Beets Farm in Berkley, Massachusetts. She is passionate about regenerative agriculture and ensuring equitable access to local produce. When she isn’t farming, she loves to hike, bake, and play music with her loved ones. She is happiest with a book in her hand and a cat in her lap. If you are interested in learning more about our free mediation services for farmers and aquaculture growers, please email her at agmediationri@gmail.com.

About Our RFSI Program Manager

Our Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program is led by Rozie Schleinig, staff at the Center for Mediation and Collaboration RI.

Rozie Schleinig joined Land & Sea Together in 2025. Prior to joining the team, Rozie was a program director for the Rhode Island Food Policy Council. She has also previously worked on small specialty crop farms in Arkansas and Massachusetts, served as a Peace Corps agriculture extension volunteer in Madagascar, and sold local produce throughout the Northeast during her time working for food hubs. She is now leading Land & Sea Together’s facilitation of middle of the supply chain business coaching, training opportunities, and market access assistance for farms and food businesses in Rhode Island. She looks forward to increasing access to resources and business technical assistance through financial, translation, and outreach support. If you have questions about available business operations resources, or if you’re a business service provider who wants to work farmers and food businesses, Rozie is happy to help with referrals, financial support options, and probably a couple of vegetable puns at rozie@cmcri.org.

About Our Succession Program Specialist

Our Succession Planning Program is led by Laurel Witri, staff at the Center for Mediation and Collaboration RI.

Laurel studied Psychology at Northeastern University then proceeded to farm and work in agriculture for the next 10 years. Starting with an urban rooftop garden, becoming a farm apprentice, managing a farm, and ultimately running her own farm, she has experienced the highs and lows of farming. Working with Land & Sea Together brings her work journey full circle, back to mental health. As a way to cope with her own mental health struggles, Laurel turned to farming. Now, she hopes to bring farmers (as well as foresters and fisheries workers) tools to cope with the stresses and strains of these industries. Prior to CMCRI, Laurel launched a mobile food market in three cities and provided technical support for refugee and immigrant farmers in New Hampshire. Originally from the Ocean State, she is thrilled to be back home and to connect with the food and forest systems and the many people who keep them afloat. She welcomes your emails- laurel@cmcri.org any time!
